Being assertive¬†is not the same thing as being aggressive or pushy. ¬†It’s about finding the best ways, in specific circumstances and taking account of your personal style, to get your contributions taken seriously.
This session focuses on identifying the key characteristics of assertive communication, and building your ability to be assertive in a wide range of situations.
By the end of the session you will learn to:
- Recognise what assertiveness is, and what it¬†isn’t
- Understand your personal barriers to being more assertive
- Appreciate the differences between assertive, aggressive and passive behaviours
- Develop techniques to become more assertive
- Develop approaches to common issues which require an assertive approach
This is a live training session held online and facilitated by one of our expert consultants for a group of up to 15 delegates.
Using a web based interface freely available to anyone with access to the internet, delegates are able to see, hear and interact with the trainer and other participants.The programme combines elements of teaching, discussion and practical sessions.
Delegates receive an electronic course manual for reference after the programme ends.
