The Objective Setting training session explains how managers can write and use objectives to enhance the performance of their team. It includes advice on how to support and encourage the team through constructive feedback based on progress and achievement of objectives.
The purpose of this session is to equip managers with the skills and confidence to create usable, measurable objectives for their team that provide structure and motivation, enable the measurement of performance and offer the opportunity to celebrate success.
The session examines why objectives work, and identifies the advantages well thought-out objectives offer over less structured approaches to managing workers’ time and tasks. Participants will learn how to write objectives that are reasonable but challenging, and that have clear, measurable targets. They will also develop the skills to measure progress against these goals¬†fairly and objectively.
Participants will also learn how to provide feedback on team members’ performance against their objectives in a way that is constructive, objective and motivating.
By the end of this course you will:
- Appreciate the importance of objectives in improving performance and motivation
- Have a tool to help you to identify and prioritise objectives for each team member
- Be able to write useable and measureable objectives using a technique that works every time
- Be able to train your team members to produce their own measurable objectives

This is a live and fully interactive training session with low delegate numbers to ensure plenty of opportunities for asking questions and discussing experiences. It is held online and facilitated by one of our expert consultants.
Using a web based interface freely available to anyone with access to the internet, delegates are able to see, hear and interact with the trainer and other participants.The programme combines elements of teaching, discussion and practical sessions.
Delegates receive an electronic course manual for reference after the programme ends.
