Giving Feedback Training

Giving FeedbackGiving Feedback Training

Giving feedback to your team can be one of the most difficult things you have to do as a manager.

When feeding-back to a productive, positive colleague it can be a pleasure, but handling¬†under-performers¬†or difficult characters can be an ordeal.¬†But do it right, and feedback can be the single most important way of improving individual and team performance. Professionally delivered, constructive feedback provides motivation, guidance, and improves the manager’s relationship with their team.

The Giving Feedback training session explains a structured, professional approach to providing feedback as well as addressing specific concerns around managing difficult conversations.

Session purpose

This session helps participants understand and utilise feedback as a development tool, providing them with a structured approach that helps them deliver feedback that is constructive, useful to its recipients and delivered sensitively.

Participants will also develop their confidence in managing difficult conversations, such as when feeding-back to an under-performer or an upset or antagonistic colleague. A central part of this is to develop their awareness of their own thoughts, beliefs and emotions whilst giving feedback.

Session Outcomes:

By the end of this session you will:

  • Recognise the importance of feedback in achieving high performance
  • Understand your own perceptions and difficulties when giving feedback
  • Take away a tried and tested technique that works every time
  • Appreciate that sometimes it won‚Äôt go to plan
  • Have a set of techniques to overcome the common difficulties faced when giving feedback
